English 7 & 8

 

English 7 & 8 take a literature-integrated approach to language arts. We will be integrating reading strategies, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, writing, research and oral language with our study of great literature. We will explore the story elements: plot, character, setting, theme, & point of view. We will also analyze and compare short stories, dramas, expository, practical and technical writing, persuasive and reflective writing, narrative nonfiction, poetry, myths, fables, folk tales, and novels.
